Built in 1965, the Rochester High School was in need of immediate updates on its exterior curtain wall / window system as well as its mechanical boiler system. As part of the project, we proposed a metal stud and “punched opening” window system in order to meet the school corporation’s primary objectives - an increased R-value in the walls and fewer windows. With our design, we were able to increase the exterior wall insulation value to R-13, and we also provided new high performance tinted windows with interior roller shades to minimize solar heat gain during the summer and heat loss in the winter months. The construction schedule was less than two months.
