The removal of Building 12 at the V.A. Northern Indiana Health Care System Marion Campus included asbestos abatement, lead-based paint abatement, and utility disconnect / relocation. Additional work included excavation and backfill, redesign of the existing parking lot west of the building, and incorporation of a new parking lot. Site remediation for lawns and pavement were incorporated, along with phasing and traffic control. Two gas boilers and two heat pumps were removed from the building and returned to the V.A. Electrical work included removing and reconnecting the building management system and emergency power B-114. The geothermal work included capping of the geothermal field.
